Kanas Nature Reserve

Kanas Nature Reserve, 155 kilometers north of Burjin County, covers an area of 2.500 square kilometers. It is a complicated nature reserve, and is attractive with its unique scenery.
Kanas Lake is an alpine lake in the Altai Mountains and located in the heart of the nature reserve, with an area of 37.7 square kilometers and an average depth of 90 meters.
The 125 kilometer-long Kanas River winds its way like a pearl necklace around Kanas Lake which is the most beautiful and bright pearl.
As the deepest lake in Xinjiang, its legendary "Lake Monster" attracts visitors from all over the world.
