Some family members of Rebiya Kadeer have written two separate letters. One letter is to Kadeer, and the other to relatives of the victims of the July 5th riot in Urumqi, capital city of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Kadeer's son, Khaher, daughter Roxingul and Kadeer's younger brother Memet condemned her for organizing the violence. And they offered their apologies to the innocent victims.

Rebiya Kadeer's family members expressed their displeasure concerning her betrayal of promises not to take part in separatist activities. They also voiced their moral indignation over the July 5th riot in Urumqi.

They wrote that, because of Kadeer, many innocent people lost their lives in the violence. Many homes, shops and vehicles were burnt or damaged. And this undermined the harmony and unity among ethnic groups.

They expressed their hope for a stable life, saying Xinjiang is a happy home where people of different ethnic groups live together in harmony. They also advised Kadeer not to follow the instigation by some people in other countries.

In the letter to the relatives of victims, Kadeer's family members held her and the World Uygur Congress responsible for the riot.

They wrote that evidence has proved the riot was organized by the WUC, led by Kadeer, and executed by a group of separatists within the Chinese borders.

They said that after an incident between Uygur and Han workers of a factory in Shaoguan, southern Guangdong Province, broke out in late June, Kadeer distorted the facts on Internet. She raised the death toll from two to more than 50, and posted counterfeit pictures, which triggered the riot.

Kadeer's family members said those who committed crimes should take responsibility.

They wrote they were not involved in the riot. They are innocent and are victims as well. And they're very angry about the riot organized by her to separate the country. They feel sorry for the victims and their families.
